The Old Smithy Inn history

The Old Smithy Inn is nestled at the top of the valley in Welcombe set in stunning unspoilt countryside a mile from the sea on the north Devon Cornwall border. This 13C thatched Inn is truly a sight to behold; it’s the meat in the sandwich, the diamond in the rough, the pea in the pod. 

As and when we have time in-between serving drinks, cooking delicious meals, ad entertaining our lovely customers we are going to fill this page with interesting history about the pub and its role in the Welcombe community…
